EGR Tube Hookup By: Dan Ferraro |
|
For anyone installing headers in the next few days, weeks, months, etc. I have found it extremely easy to access and hook-up the EGR tube to the headers the following way. Once you have removed all the bolts on the passenger side manifold and disconnected the converters, remove the EGR tube from the back of the intake manifold. This is accomplished by removing two 13mm nuts from the left/back of the intake. Once you have done this slide the EGR tube off the two studs and pull the manifold down so you can access the EGR hook-up to the manifold and remove. When you are ready to install the headers, place the passenger side header in place, drop the header back down far enough to mount the EGR tube to the header then re-position the header. Start the first and last bolts, then follow with the rest. You may have to play with the EGR tube a bit at the intake as it will want to butt up against the mounting studs and intake, etc. Once the header bolts are all secure you can then mount the EGR tube back to the intake manifold. Keep in mind I make no guarantees this procedure will work with any headers except our TRI-Y and new "Quad 1" headers. Good luck! |
