Happy New Year to everyone from ECIRS/Impala SS/B-Body Racing- It that time of the year again that we need to start looking at the racing schedule for 2016. For the sponsors of the races that plan on scheduling a race please submit them to me and we will get them on the racing schedule calendar. Also don't forget that the ISSCA Nationals and LTX Shootout dates are still in the planning phrase for this year.
So who's car is ready for the first race?
I just defrosted April's block that I forgot didn't
have antifreeze and froze solid back in Jan.
and luckly only the thermostat housing gooseneck cracked in half.
The ImpalaMASTER and DragCAT need water but are READY!
I am ready, just rebuilt the rear with an Eaton Pro series and new bearings.
Same motor and trans as last year but have my backup trans ready and sending off my other stroker engine to get a 30 over bore to make it a true 383. If I get a few warmer days I will get more of the black paint over the primer.
Question?? If when I bore and add 30 over pistons, do I have to have the assembly rebalanced? And if so who does it in our area?
I am planning a new cam, ST lifter, springs and thicker push rods.
May not get to it until warmer weather.
For now add an ATI balancer and basic tune up.
Going to run G/PS set up until my new gas tank arrives from Mike Harris.
Then revert to F/PS and reduce weight.
This is for the sponsor's of the ECIRS Races for 2016. Please send me your contact info so I can get with you about your sponsor fees and what you would like on your plaque.
Please sent info to pelton@md.metrocast.net
Phone number if you can not get me any other way-301-904-7020.
I need this info 2 weeks prior to the race so I can get it order and pickup.
Thanks
Using these lighter pistons means you can shave a lot more weight off the crank
therefore lightening up the entire rotating assembly for quicker acceleration and more horse powers!
Barry, here's the link for .030 over forged Mahle pistons for 3.75" stroke & 5.7" rods w/a 16cc dish for 10.5 compression.

Can someone tell me the official address for Island Dragway.
Trying to make plans for the Nats and need to get my car transported from NY,so if I get to the Race in June,I will leave it with someone who can get it to the transporter July 22.
I can then Fly from here in July rather than hang around NY for days waiting.
Never mind, found it,thought it was closer, might have to rethink this Nats idea.
I'll be there. Prolly out in the first round as yesterday was anything but consistent, but I'll be there, mostly just to hang! Now to decide on whether or not to try to run the slicks and just not launch it hard. Might pull first pass on slicks and if it bogs too much, I'll just slap the street tires back on. She runs though
Ha ha, 14.0, nah, but I will leave myself a little room if I get a bad launch or wheel spin. But the air should be consistent, so the biggest problem will be my lights I think. But I honestly do plan on dialing around .2 over what I think my car will really run. Problem I found out yesterday is, there is a tremendous difference from shifting around 6K to shifting around 6700 where my light is. I'm talking like .4 and 4 mph... I'm not going to go many rounds, if any, but hey, just out to see the guys I haven't seen in years.
The next races will be at Mason-Dixie, MD. - 23 April 2016
It will be a double hitter.
Sponsors for this race please get a hold of me.
First race will be Dan Fahey and the second race will be Barry Gaudette.
Gates open at 10 AM-Check the web site.
See everyone there.
