need help. I have a stock lt1 with your basic bolt ons. I'm planning to upgrade my rockers/springs. need help with finding the best rocker/springs for my vehicle. part#'s will help. also i'm locking for composite valve covers or early corvette covers that will fit this application. I need a mechanic who can do this work for me. I live in southern,ca(cerritos) and need a reputable LT1 mechanic here in my area. thank you
Stock valve covers fit over a lot of different rocker/spring combinations. Some without modification, some with some minor modification. Just FYI since composite valve covers are $$$$$ if you can even find them.
Unless you are going to full roller rockers, you probably will be able to use OEM size valve covers. If you go to full roller aluminum rockers, you will need tall covers. Going to 1.6 ratio rockers and appropriate springs will fit under OEM size valve covers. A roller tip rocker will also fit under the OEM size covers. The stainless roller rockers may fit under the original size covers as well.
is there a part# on the gold rockers you guys recommend. Also the springs that you guys mention, either or are the best fit, correct. this will clear my stock valve covers, right. also will these fit the stock lt4 valve covers. does anyone have a pair there willing to part. Thanks brothers for all your advice. check my other posting i have listed for a rear differential gear upgrade to a 3.73 gear ratio. i would also need part#'s for this upgrade.
the 10309-1 spring kit is better than the H-11. The later is for a 1.700 installed height. The 10309 spring is for 1.750" (stock) LT1. You could use the H 11 but likely need some shims to set them at 1.700
since you are not doing any of this work yourself...best to give parts to a shop that is more "plug & play"...
the Crane gold "narrow body" fits under stock valve covers or the composite ones. Comp or Crane RR fits under the composite covers also
