Ellwein Engines :)

I received my ERE-383 today and I am stoked about getting the engine into my Impala.
The original build made 499hp/515tq. But the motor was damaged during shipping where Karl had to disassemble and reassemble the motor to replace the damaged parts. Karl was fantastic in all of this.... I highly recommend.

On the motor Dyno again --- 515.7hp @6000 rpm 523.9tq @4400 rpm. This combination makes 504.6tq @ 3300 rpm with a nice flat torque curve.

More to follow as I install the engine into my Impala.

Later,
Michael

He wanted to ensure that the valves did not contact the pistons and clean up the sand and dirt inside the motor.

All is good now.

Kudos to Karl

Heads are from Lloyd Elliot:
TrickFlow LT1 aluminum heads. new castings. Upgraded 2.08/1.60 valves. 215 cc intake runner flowing 300+ cfm. Spring upgrade for a .700 lift

Camshaft:
Lloyd Elliot custom grind from Comp Cams: 223/231 .581/.584 112LSA

Compression Ratio:
11.1 to 1

Karl and Lloyd specified all the parts based on my intended usage.

Very nice! Very similar to my set-up, only I've got slightly higher CR and a bit bigger bump stick...

Sounds like an error in your favor, collect 16HP and 9ft#.

More progress.
I removed the motor from the shipping crate and put it on my engine stand.
I installed the Opti, WP, headers, misc brackets, plug wires and various sensors. Getting close to be able to stuff into the Impala.
