Thinking my best bet is a 5.3l ls out of a chevy truck because mpg around 20 and better with upgrades air intake, plugs, wires, and electric fans.

1. The fitment other thin motor mounts do I have to get custom headers oil pan anything like that?

2. Does someone make a tbi to 5.3 ls wiring harness and brain for the 91 caprice?
The mounts make a lot of difference. It affects what oilpans will fit as well as what headers will fit. I make mounts that let you use a Holley or F-Body pan, and F-body headers. Don't waste your money on the GMPP muscle car pan kit. It hangs way too low below the crossmember.

You will need a car intake, the cowl gets in the way, and notching it for clearance will give you issues with the wiper mechanism.

A 5.3 is a better choice over a 4.8, take the extra 40 ft-# of torque, the mileage is not all that different.

Search around, there are lots of people doing harness modifications.

Ya the intake on my dads 5.3 is a huge ugly block.

I was wanting to know what intakes will work?

I found a 5.3 with harness and computer for $750 which is a lot better thin what I though I would have to pay.

I found that hedman makes a motor mount swap kit for the 91-96 caprice/impala for the ls 4.8 5.3 6.0 so that's solved. They make headers to but their $550 powder coated.

The fuel pump what did you guys do out of the tank or did you find 1 that works with the stock fuel mech?

Suicide back doors shaved everything.

Next 5.3 ls swap.

I was going to type up a smarta$$ answer, but its not worth it.

All your questions have been covered NUMEROUS times from guys that have already done this swap. The info is out there... if you're too lazy to read/research what works and what doesn't, I'm willing to put down $100 saying that you won't finish this swap in by 2015.
