control arms?

i know the impala ss and our wagons share teh same front upper control arms, and that the front springs are different, but what i can not find any infoon is will the tubular front control arm kits work on our wagons, and if so which springs do i run, impala or wagon. I plan on running a set of hotchkis swaybars, front and rear, hotchkis rear arms, and speedtech front arm kit if it will work on my 92 rmw. i know that no matter what i do, blah blah blah, its still a wagon and it still wont handle as good as a sedan, but want to squeeze every bit of handling i can get out of it, while not lowering it too low.

If the arms have the same geometry as the OEM arms, they will act in the same manner. The springs would have the same ride heigth if the spring seats are in the same location in reference to the pivots.

thats where my prblem sits, no one know about the geometry differences or similarities where i live, and cant seem to find any real info specific on here to this nature. these ar5e the lowers, http://www.speedtechperformance.com/...prod/prd60.htm

i plan on using, and i know the uppers are the same

I won't get into the "what are they going to do for you?" or "what are they going to do to your car if you crash it?"

YES they will fit your wagon .

All the arms front and rear are the same , sedan and wagon

Only difference is the later SEO sedans got the larger joints
If you are dropping this much coin, buy some new 5/8 knuckles and use the larger joint

The only geometry difference in a wagon is the rear lower arms are spread further apart because the frame and diff mounting points are wider.

thanks that greatly helps, i do already have a stock ss set of spindles, and i have two 455 buick stage 2 enginess in the back of the garage, so i kinda want to improve the handling any way possible, pretty sure you can figure out what is going in what......

The Impala never got the big ball joints.
They are functionally the same as what you have.

Some late (don't know the cut off) 95 9C1's, 96 9C1's

As you can appreciate, the last thing you want are used,unknown 18 year old cop car come taxi cab steering knuckles.

Personally,
I would put the new knuckles, stamped factory arms, GW Delalum bushes,

Bilsteins, some springs in the 700 lb range (ask Bill Harper) , Hotchkis Bars, heavy rate 12.7 steering box,,,,,,,,,,,, and call it a day.

The lower rear arms on the later model cars have slightly different design. The lower arms have mounting holes for the sway bar on the top instead of the sides. The arms with the holes on the sides are more likely to crack, so the mounts were modified to bolt through the top of the arm instead. I believe the different arm design started with the 94 model year.

And you know what? The only factory arms I have seen fail are the ones with the through bolts and the holes through the top.

IMO , the production arms in either style are not up to the task of mounting a serious rear sway bar to them and the loads it imposes.

And if we are going to nit pick, there are a couple different lower front arms in 9/16 with different steering stops.
But they are interchangeable
