Hi guys.Ibhave Dans Quad-1 headers with a full stainless steel exhaust on my 96 SS.I had Dan put bungs in each exhaust if I want to put AFR gauges on it or if I bring it to a dyno to get tuned they can plug right in.
I believe you get what u pay for.He was great for me as he listened to what I wanted.The Quality is amazing and fit and finish is up there too.

Congrats on the "shout-out" in this months Super Chevy "Time for the shoehorn" article!

On the subject of cat-backs, I just installed a Summit cat-back today SUM-680028. The fit was good. Each car fits slightly differently and I did have to trim 2 1/2" from the driver's side intermediate pipe. The mufflers are quite a bit quieter than the Hooker Aero Chambers I took off.

Walker/Dynamax on RockAuto

Most, if not all the parts on that Dynamax chart can also be found at RockAuto. You just have to put the part numbers in to the part number search box, rather than finding them thru the 94-96 Impala SS link. Then use the RockAuto discount.

I have used all of the Walker/Dynamax parts on my exhaust with a pair of Flowmaster 50's for about 7 years now and I like the sound of my exhaust. You many need to move to a different muffler for more noise or sound. Just make sure you get the inlet and outlet set right for the pipes and in 2.5".

I know this is an old post, but this is still good info I have not seen before.

I ran them for 12 years and only issue was the rear pipe connection rusted but otherwise they were fine. I replaced them with SpinTech Sportsman XL's (chambered muffler)

I've gotten great life out of these too. Better than factory for a change.

Just checked records. The first 17749 lasted 6 years when I replaced it with another 17749.

Started getting louder but turned out to be the reused dynomax OTA pipe from 3 years prior to that was rotting out at the muffler outlet. So 9 years easy for the muffler/OTA combo. So I'd say no noticeable change in sound until the rotted pipe. But I also run the dynomax resonator to quiet it down some more. So the rotted pipe change was exaggerated.

I never did end up using those, went with a complete setup from Dan. However I'm thinking of experimenting with different combos of mufflers, resonators on or off, etc to see if I can get it perfect. I also found that dynomax makes a full stainless steel version of their super turbo mufflers, but I don't have a part number handy, just something to be aware of if you're looking for rust prevention.

I keep hearing about the "Super Chevy" article with my products. I honestly haven't seen it yet. I guess I need to pick up a copy. Thanks for letting me know.

We are also thinking about making our own mufflers. 304 stainless ovals would probably be the first. We already do our own resonators.
