The F-body 6 speed EGR is better suited for cars (our B-body) that have larger pipe exhaust and or headers. Get the F-body EGR AND Solenoid

when swapping the EGR good idea to reach inside the hole on manifold (back of motor) and clean as much carbon build up off the part where the EGR printle sits

the OEM factory EGR was a recall. I used the ACDELCO that replaced the recall EGR. and I do have the same type EGR now in my IMPALA now and so far it works fine until , it gets to 10 yrs old.

I have read with a larger sized exhaust it may help to have the other EGR . I still have the stock exhaust .

Hope the problem is fixed.
Years back I could not pass smog, no matter what. The car ran fine. I got so frustrated that ran the car out of gas, put two quarts of Isopril alcohol in an passed the test.
Alcohol corrodes aluminum, so the tank should be topped off and used up as quickly as possible.
The car was 81 AMC Concord.
