295/35 should fit, but they will be a little smaller in diameter. Depending on your offset, you should be good with the 35s.

275/40 will also fit nicely. They are a little smaller than the stock tires.

Either of them will reduce the speed at sixty on the speedometer by about 1 mph (actual)

The 8 inch rim width is about 1/2 inch too narrow for either of the tires. You could use a slightly narrower tire on the front, or just put the larger ones on, and not worry about it.

Personally, I'd go with 285/40's front and rear on 18"x9.5" front and rear.

As a matter of fact......that's what I'm doing right now!!

BTW......285/40-18 tires = same diameter as stock 255/50-17's.

How concerned are you about tire availability? Much like the stock 17" size is almost extinct. There's not much selection in the some other other presented here. Tirerack shows only 5 choices for the 285/40. 2 are in close out, one is limited quantities. Other is over 400 bucks a tire.

If you stick with stock size equivalent, 255/45, you have over 50 tire choices.

The 275/40 though a tad shorter are the next most popular with 33 choices.

Might be worth considering depending on how much you drive it and for how long you will keep the car.
