Red face STOP... get it? brakes thread..?

Thanks for the reply Bill, I had just emailed you that I wanted to go forward with your HD12 setup. I might be the one to try out this new offering, but the dealbreaker is that I am unwilling to upgrade the tires and wheels. The current set on the car is in great shape and some minor refinishing of the stock wheels, they will look great. So if there is an issue regarding fitment for this setup, I'm willing to be the test mule as this is just a project car that is not yet on the road, but soon will be. Just in case you don't already have a test vehicle for this specific application, let me know and I'd be glad to help any way I can. My preference is to use the stock wheels with the Kore3 hubs and required mod.

My current timeline is to get the transmission rebuilt and the car registered and on the road by the end of June. If anyone knows of a good dent wizard, PDR guy in the southern NH area, let me know. My rear fenders and dented but not rusted, so it could be a 'poster car' for what a good dent guy can do for a car that just needs a gentle 'massage'.

Complete upgrade turns to front only

My budget is only going to allow for just the front brakes if I want to stick with the slotted HD12 kit. I considered a rotor and pad upgrade for all 4 corners, (Stoptech and Powerstop), but for my intended use, this makes the most sense. I have already ordered the stealth bolt kit and Russell lines. Will be going with NAPA J55 calipers. Any pad recommendations? I'm not ready to spend big dollars on Carbotech pads just yet...

Have you looked into this setup? It's from Rock Auto, one of our vendors and you can get the discount too.

I have had very good service (61k mi), and braking, using Performance Friction pads. Carbon Metallic.

Used to be widely available in our pad size. Now harder to find. A few websites I did find that listed them turned out to be N/A.

Just bought the rears NIB from Amazon and the fronts on ebay. Fronts were $14 from the seller in Canada. With the $23 shipping still cheaper than any place that was listing them.

Basically you need to find a supplier that has some shelf inventory

part #'s"

Front-0614.20 (.21 is the 9C1 thicker pad)
Rear-0628.20
