After market ebay black 1995 new power mirrors

Hello. I have a question. I purchased a new set of mirrors off ebay and tried to connect them and I cant get them to fully function. What Im saying is I can get the drivers side one to go left and right and the passenger to go up down and left. NOTE: I cut the wires before by the kick panel. There are 8 of them. I connected the wires every which way I possibly can think and the best I could come up with is what I said in the beginning.

Main Question: Do after market mirrors have some different wiring? Do people have problems with them needing extra wiring to make them work? Or, am I doing something wrong and have something not right. Anybody have a link to a wiring diagram? Thanks.

Everytime I get close and make a change in the wires (same colors of course swapping whites for whites) it does something worse. There are two purple wires coming off the little ball switch and two of every other color totaling 8 wires. Need some advice. Does the FSM have any helpful info?

Thanks

NOTE: When I had all the wires connected the best I thought (all colors matching), I took the passenger side panel off to test the plug with a test light. It sends the signal to the mirror and I see the same signal send to the drivers side door wiring area, but the passenger mirror dont move right. Could this be a ground elsewhere and I have things correct? I remember cutting the wires because there was too much wire down there (I wanted to minimizesome) and I damaged my drivers mirror backing in to a carport. I have not been able to get the mirrors going ever since.

You can always try an OEM mirror to determine if it is the mirror. You need a wiring diagram to make sure you have everything connected properly. The Haynes manual has a wiring diagram in the back. I believe it has the wiring for the mirrors.

When you do a mod like that, do one wire at a time. That way you know they have been properly connected.

Thanks for the information. I dont have another mirror but found something out today and want an opinion. Ok, I connected all the wires to the best of my ability. I have two original type switches. One switch makes the drivers side go down and left-and passenger side go up and down. The second switch makes the drivers side down and left (same thing)-and passenger side go up down AND left. So Im thinking my switches are both bad because one switch does more functions than the other one when I plug in the other switch.

1. Do these switches go bad? Like is it common?
2. Where can I find a brand new one. I cant even google one they are so rare. My nearby Chevrolet dealer said they are discontinued. And thats a bummer. There is no way I'll ever know how to test a junk yard switch unless I really knew how. Id hate to spend the money on a faulty switch and wonder if My wiring is wrong and switch is bad-all at the same time.

I believe its possibly both switches are bad since one of the switches does more directions on the passenger mirror. I also got one movement to work by moving the switch around and kind of moving the wires at the same time. But it only does it sometimes. It has a short inside the casing but the casing is sealed shut and kind of a heavy duty non repairable item.

Any switch can fail. I keep spares of anything that might break.
