Although the stripes are not flat black, they are patterned after the Chevelle and Camaro Stripes of the sixties. The key is the 1/4 inch wide accent around the stripes that make it "old school." The stripes are House of Kolor Black Ice Pearl and disappear at night as ghost stripes. The crystals are actually black, not silver or metallic. They only "pop" silver because they are reflecting sunlight. The trunk mirrors the hood and the stripes do not go past the lower edge of the stock spoiler.

My personal opinion is that most people who do their own stripes don't make them wide enough.

Also, I think they look best when the center section comes to a sharp corner on the inside, like this:

Follow the line of the hood back to the cowl. They'll be slightly wider at the rear doing it this way.

The rear stripes should be just as wide as the stripes at the cowl. Wrap them over the spoiler, but don't go past the spoiler. They should look like this:

This is all just my personal opinion, though. Our cars are wide. Putting stripes on them that are the dimensions of an old Z28 or Chevelle are going to make them look skinny and out of place. Just grap some striping tape and start laying them out and see what looks best without being too skinny, or too wide and overpowering the hood.
