Hello everyone.
So today I went to start up my car and when I turned it on it ran alright for a few moments then I noticed the 'low oil' light came on and the engine shut off then the 'check engine' light came on.
I opened the hood and checked the oil level, seems alright.
checked under the car, no signs of any leaks or drip spots
I started it up again thinking it was a fluke, no warning lights were on the dash, all seemed ok. It ran for a few moments and I revved it. seemed alright. let it idle some more and it seemed fine
I thought it was a fluke, so I put it in reverse and pulled out to drive down my driveway. I got near the end and started to brake and then the engine shut off with the warning lights on the dash coming on again.
My cousin came over and we looked it over. He said it could be an oil pressure issue. He said on cars like these when the oil pressure is low it will turn off the fuel pump to save the engine...
After we looked it over, seeing nothing out of the ordinary I went to turn it back on to reverse it back to my house and it was having trouble even starting up this time... We had to put it in neutral and push it back to my house. I love this car but it seems like every other week I gotta fix something...
Has anyone had a situation like this? What are some things I should take a look at?
It's a 1994 Caprice 9C1 with the LT1 engine
Thanks
