Did GM use the same valve spring for cast iron heads and aluminum heads?
I've been searching this Forum as well as the interwebs and can't come up with a part number for the stock valve springs that came on the cast iron heads to save my life.
I'm just trying to freshen up an engine. Not looking to modify it.
Hey Jim, I don't know that they are same or different, but I certainly think they would be good enough for a stock ish cam either way. I did find out that 96 pushrods weren't hardened...lol.

I put these in all my "freshen up LT1 builds" using stock keeper and retainers for about $40 on Amazon -- Edelbrock 5703 Sure Seat Valve Spring. You can even run a Hotcam with them with no issues.
Installed many set and never had a issue.
