I highly recommend buying a couple bottles of Techron and running them through your tank.

I agree 100% with 96WhiteCloud's recommendation to use Sherlock9C1's write-up on the recalibration of the the sending unit.

I did this 2 weeks ago when I replaced my fuel pump.

It's nice to actually have an accurate gauge!

When the tank reads 1/2, it only takes 10-11 gallons for it to fill.

It was well worth the time to do it.

I had the same problem on both my vehicles. Took a few bottles of Techron, but it solved the problem
Not only is needle more accurate, it's more steady. Still wobbles on accel and braking of course. Most important, the low fuel warning light now works on both. First time in 10 years!

I have been a fan of Techron for years. It cured my gas gauge after a few tanks. buy it in the can or run Chevron gas.
