How to replace crankshaft seal

Just like the title says, I am going to be replacing this seal and need some tips on how to go about it. From what I understand I need to take off the balancer, pull out the shaft with the puller, use lube to put the seal in and then knock the shaft back in. what do I use to knock the shaft back in? Any input will be helpful thanks

...don't "knock" the hub (shaft) back on.

Of course there is a exploding wallet tool made by Kent Moore to pull/press the hub back on.

there are a few DIY methods using pullers more common from auto parts stores you get on loan. a search might show info, I have only R&R with the Kent Moore tool I borrowed from a friend.

yeah the crank seal you lube the inside lip then use a plastic mallet to tap into place.

I remember seeing one of my uncles having difficulty taking out the hub in another caprice, even with a puller and getting it back in was even harder. Thanks for the feed back BALLSS. Anymore inout will be appreciated Thanks

To clarify what BALLSS said - the reason why you don't just hammer the hub back on is because you're basically hammering against the crankshaft thrust bearing and could damage it. Fixing that means removing the engine...
