EVAP Purge solenoid code 26
Hey guys, I've gone thru and fixed a handful of problems with my 95 since I got it and now I'm starting to get the time to focus on my CEL. When I first got them pulled there was like 5 codes from before, cleared them all and when it was scanned again only code 26 popped up, quad driver module fault. Now I've done some searching and found out thats the EVAP circuit and I found the solenoid for like $25.
Now I'm not sure if anyone else has had this code and what it did, but mine is not always on. Say when I go to work during the week, I start the car, drive it about 15 miles and shut it off for like 8 hours. Then start it and drive it home and same thing, all with no CEL. It seems that if the car cools all the way the CEL wont trigger. Its when the car has been ran and then shut off and started again within a few minutes to a half hour or so, the CEL will come on after a few seconds of the car running. When it comes on its on the whole time I'm moving, and when I come up to a red light and stop for like 5 seconds it will go out, then when I go to move again it comes back on.
I just wanted to see if anyone else had this code and if it behaved the same way mine is, and if getting the new solenoid is the right way to go.
