I have baffled myself and I don't know how - spare connector

Finalizing everything and trying to fire up after a motor swap/upgrade.

Smog pump and EGR gone, so those connectors accounted for, as is power antenna. I still have 1 more 3-wire connector hanging down from the harness with the smog pump lead. Not for the coil or ignition module, seems, as I have something buttoned up everyplace else. Also doesn't appear to have been an unused one, as it's clean.

96 SS btw.

Everything typical accounted for, and this wouldn't reach MAF anyway. Also not for washer pump.

Correcting myself - the 3 wire is smog pump, this is a 2 wire. It's in the same harness as the smog, the power steering cutoff and the water pump temp sensor. FSM shows all of these, but doesn't show this mythical 4th connector.

Now, perhaps I'm just stuck on this as this car was built day 1 of 96 production, 3rd Impala down the line. I have encountered the random 95 item instead of 96, although the harness having a difference would be unusual to me.

Can anyone with a 95 FSM look at the engine wiring pics in that "massive" section and see if that portion shows a 4th item?

Power steering line pressure switch maybe? That's in the same general area. I believe the 96's also had some sort of smog solenoid (or other doo-dad)there as well.

Edit: I missed the part where you said the power steering switch is accounted for, my bad. It's probably the connector for the solenoid thingy (or whatever it is).

PS cutout is connected. You may have just hit on it, I have to check the trash pile as there might have indeed been some silly solenoid.

There was a retro-fit air-pump fix kit years ago that included some other vacuum valves, and additional connectors. As well as slightly different hoses to prevent condensate from running down into the pump, and damaging it.

Yeah, I just found that solenoid in the pile near the smog pump. Perfect match.

Solves that concern. Now to figure out why there appears to be no spark.
