blinker wont stop blinking!!

When I turn on my blinker to turn right it will not turn off after the turn.When I turn left everything works fine. I'm sure this is a common problem but I haven't run into it before. How do I fix it??

The return spring in the turn signal switch is probably broken. You need a new turn signal switch. R&R has been documented on the forum numerous times. Use the search function to find it.

I did this when I got my latest ride in November. It's easy as pie. The springs I got locally. They are from the HELP! series, P/N: 49312.

If you are going to get/use a loaner tool from any parts store, make sure you take a good look at the bolts before you get to the house. Each and every bolt in the puller set I got was bent. So I went to the HDW store, and got replacements. The ones I got were approximately 3 or 3-1/2" long, instead of the 4"-5" bolts in the kit, allowing less flex.

As Fred wrote, do a search on the topic, and you'll find the post with pictures documenting the process.

+1 on getting replacement bolts. Thats the first thing I do as the bolts that come with most pullers are LESS than grade 5. We all know the problems with the grade 5 bolts on the cars so why would we want to use a cheaper grade bolt that stretches too much under pulling force?? The proper size of bolts is flange headed(or you can buy matching sized washers and use standard bolts) 5/16 coarse threading in grade 8 for our cars, which is also the size of bolts used for the harmonic balancer. Also from places like Harbor Freight and other stores the balancer and steering wheel pullers are cheap enough(even after buying the grade 8 bolts) its a good tool to have in your toolbox. - Peter

To get to the turn signal cam you have to remove the steering wheel, remove the ABS clockspring, remove a few other parts in the upper column and then you can remove and replace the turn signal cam and springs. Mine did the same except it was the left turn signal. After nearly hitting a motorcycle who turned left in front of me because he thought I was turning left I went to Napa and got new springs. Was under $3.00, just ask for GM turn signal springs. Yank your wheel off and replace them. I never did it before and it took me about an hour and half.

I fixed it. I went to Napa and got the springs. My dad has a steering wheel puller so that was nice. But that steering wheel lock mechanism was a real bitch to get past. Thank you 94roadhammer for pointing me in the right direction
