Finally got my 5.7

Hey, all looong time lurker..

I've had a 96 caprice with the L99 for about 5 years and love it. Bought it for $600 so I've been getting repair tip from here the whole time. I have been holding out for a steal on something with the Lt1 for a while and came across my recent purchase. Grabbed a 96 B4U for $2500 with only 49,898 miles on it. Not a bad deal so I grabbed it. From what I can tell it could use inner fender wells soonish, and thats it. There is VERY little rust for a MA vehicle. Very happy with it.

I'm sure I'll be bugging the forums for years with my upgrades and repairs!

Thanks - Chris

The L99 is a strong, long lasting engine, just lacking in the power. The smile factor when finally swapping out my L99 was Huge. But after a solid 100k of service, the L99 was still running well and burned no oil and cylinders still had the honing marks and were very clean when we pulled the heads.

Lots of info here to keep you busy with mods/ideas or help with repairs. Be careful though...Mog Bug can get out of control. Things have settled down here over the last year or so but its good to see someone keeping these ole Girls going.

Finally ready to drive the car after a 2 week accident repair to replace some front sheet metal damage and other stuff. Buuuuut, we get a measly 2" of snow this morning and the roads are a mess with Salt and all. I really want to Drive the damn car now and I can't. Arrrgg!!
