I've had my 99 SS for 21 years now and have no plans for it going anywhere but lately I've been wanting to find a late model Caprice. I know some of you guys have late model Chevy SS in the garage, anyone with a Caprice PPV?
Yah caught that, but two things told me that's a typo: I don't believe there's any such thing as a '99 model Impala. Even so, no one in their right mind would ever consider it noteworthy to remark on their pride of ownership (or continued ownership) in the first-year W- Impala.
And I do mean no one.
Or that would dare to equate one with a last Gen- Chevy SS or PPV. Those things are gonna end up the ugly stealth COPO collectibles of last century.
I picked up a 2013 Caprice PPV last summer. I love the car. I was somewhat familiar with the platform as my dad has a 2009 Pontiac G8 GXP. I have a '95 LT1 Caprice and a '96 LT1 Roadmaster as well.
The extra 100 hp in the '13 is noticed right away. So far I lowered my PPV 2" on H&R springs, did an axle back Solo Exhaust and a Rotofab intake. Long tube headers and some tuning are next.
I find the stripped down interior cool as well as the steelie rims. I like the '13 and older as the '14 and up put the shifter in the column while the earlier cars had it on the center councel. a lot of the
G8, Chevy SS parts will fit but some manufactures are making specific parts for the Caprice. Right now in the Chicago area there is a good selection of PPV's for sale. Some with as low as 38,000 miles
You guys need to post some pics of these Caprice PPVs. I've seen them but would love to see what you guys have done with them. I will visit that website
I too snagged a 1-owner 2013 Caprice PPV w/ L77 V8, when I bought the car it had 53 miles on it. That was in April of 2015. It now has 12K on it and so far I like it!
