Do the jeep shaft mod and then don't worry about it anymore. Improved steering feel is one of the benefits. You can find one in the yard, I'm not sure if they are still available.

Can you specify what the jeep mod is or where I can get a kit that works?

Or me lol....the jeep shaft is the way to go though. I had the bushing go bad on my 85 Monte Carlo SS and was about to pay 200 as I didn't want to replace bushing on my old one. ( the help section in auto stores carry bushing but you have to grind old studs off your shaft) then I learned about jeep shaft and went that route. Don't overpay for one either.

Post Jeep Shaft replacement issue

I asked a few of you individually and if I get a response that works here. but for everyone else..

I recently replaced the steering shaft with a jeep one and now I hear a darth vader like wooshing noise when I apply pressure to turn the wheel. the more pressure the more noise. Sounds like my steering pump is working twice as hard as when it was the stock shaft.

Did anyone else run into this? how did you fix it or am I the only one?

thanks!

If you have not thrown it out yet, reinstall the stock shaft, and check if it still does the wooshing bit.
