If you can get the old one out, you could replace just the mast. Find one with a broken nylon cable and remove the mast section. You can unscrew the final on the last segment, and swap everything but the top segment. (You may have to straighted the original top segment.) I think GN 1220 recently did one.

Antenna rebuild

Check this link...
http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums...r-antenna.html

It's for a Caddy but very similar and had good pics and instructions.

Also check out www.antennamastsrus.com for parts and they will also do the rebuild for you.

100 is to much. I feel like I can get one for way cheaper at a yard or someone local parting out their caprice or impala

Now, on to the trunk pulldown

Nice find thanks. Do you have to pull the fender to replace the mass?

You have to pull the bolts that hold the wheelhouse to the fender, and body. Put a 2x4 between the back of the wheelhouse and the body. Remove the bolt in the door jam, and the bezel on the top of the fender. The antenna should come out with a little wiggling.

Power antenna compatability for 1996 impala

Hello. I was wondering if there are any power antennas I can pull of other vechicles that will fit into my 1996 impala?
