I just had a prototype Radio Mount made. This is almost the same as a Metra Kit Part Number 99-3300. We can get them polished, anodized, powder coated or whatever the heart desires. We are also looking at some engraving if anybody is interested.

I do not know what cost will be on the part yet. They are going to get that together for me.

I am thinking about a group purchase to get the ball rolling.

What are your thoughts?

Here are a couple of shots.

That's interesting. I wonder if a krinkle black powdercoat would match the surrounding plastic?

I have a plastic one of these which looks pretty cheap IMO. Be cool to replace it with a quality piece. Interested in one with black anodized finish. Thanks

If it is truely a copy of the Metra Kit yes it will recess your headunit to flush with the rest of the dash but will require you to cut/trim/remove/break and piece behind the headunit so it has enough depth. Which is what I did.

These look great, prolly out of my price range, but look good none the less.

The backspace on the radio is about 1/8" less than the Metra Kit. The was to keep the tooling cost down.

On a side note, this kit will also work with the 1997-2002 Camaro and 1997-2004 Corvette and quite a few other vehicles that I don't think I need to list.

The next part that I am working on is an Aluminum replacement switch for the Power Windows and Power Seats. There are 11 of these switches in the car and I thought that they would look real nice in Aluminum.

I will try to get the price on these by Monday. Thanks again and I would appreciate any input!

Definitely a hot item HACK! If I didn't already have a metal relocation kit in mine I'd be all over this.

The metal switches sound like a solid plan as well! I think I will follow this thread for sure. If only the aluminum door bezels weren't so much :( .

I bet you're right! The only problem with that is now you'll need to make door lock and handles to match.

OK. My CNC guy just got back with me on the switches. I don't think we will be doing any of them. My COST is going to be about $75 PER SWITCH. There are 11 switches in the car. Let me do the math for those of you that have your mouths open..........wait for it........$825 COST for 11 switches.

Ooooh that is very nice. Now to find a nice single din stereo to mate it with (no flip out screen) to reap its shiney benefits.
