I am looking at getting a set. I know that there are other and better ones out there but I am not going to spend loads of time making connection pipes and replacing cats and stuff. Also have to contend with Emissions requirements. All that said does anyone have these and could comment on fitment? Thanks

Pretty much any shorty header will bolt right up.
These claim 8-15hp and not bad price for coated.

Might wanna do somethin with the rest of the exhaust though.

If your lookin to buy from someone on the forum, look here:

I eventually and going to go larger with the pipe and use highflow cats. Right now the issue is the cracked pass. side manifold. I can't use the heat and a/c cause the car almost immediately fills with exhaust fumes. I have to worry about my son being in the backseat. So it's got to get fixed asap. I plan on using a Pypes X pipe.

Edelbrocks shorties are not the same. Atleast not in the pictures I have seen of either of them.

I was gonna use them on my car and found different results from different sources. i saw some that saw no gains and some that saw 5-8 hp gains but i ended up just sucking up the extra money for some that i knew would work and that were gonna last. i know on the edelbrocks, its not a bolt on application cause one of the cats has to be cut and a small extention has to be welded on to it and then connected to the header itself. i believe the bbk is bolt on if im not mistaken.

The thing about the edelbrocks is that they curve straight up towards the hood. From the look of it I would imagine that it would make working on stuff like the valve covers all but impossible unless you remove them. Although I could be wrong about that.

I'd do Hookers before I'd do BBKs.

Hookers have bigger primary tubes.

The price is kinda up there for the Hookers in a coated pair. At 625 vs. 500. I am not putting these on a modified engine. Even still I would imagine that the BBK could support 350hp. I could be wrong though. I have to consider my budget as well.

SStreetking, Thanks for the reply. I am wondering how close they come to the firewall on the drivers side. Mine SS is a 95 has the column shift. So I am hoping they will clear the linkage as well. If you have any pics of them installed I would love to see them. Thanks Again.

Thanks Alot. Were yours originally ceramic coated or just painted? I am really hoping thats not what happens to the coated ones. I already ordered the set. If thats what happens to the coated ones I might just send them back.

Yeah the coated ones look kinda chrome in finish. I think they will work out fine.
