Ive heard about switching to a 160degree thermostat and while looking across craigslist for misc. parts ive come across a hypertech 180 degree thermostat for $25 dollars is that a good buy or is the 160 the thermostat of choice here?

2 questions:

1) Is it LT1-specific? Regular SBC thermostats will not work in the LT1.

2) Are you planning on having your PCM reflashed to lower the fan turn-on temps, or do you have a B4U with the belt-driven primary fan? Without these, switching your thermostat will be useless.
