Hi:

Can you use one of those Prestone kits you install in the heater hose to back flush the LT1 cooling system? Is that possible or advisable with the reverse flow cooling system?

And if you can do it, which of the heater hoses would the tee have to be installed on?

Also, can you crack your block using a hose to run cool water into your car while it's running like that?

Right now I'm assuming it's better to stick with flushing the radiator, the block, and the heater core out seperately with the engine not running...

Thank You,

Lee B.

Yes to 1 and why not to 2?

Top hose runs from HC. Bottom hose runs to HC. Use top hose.

Also, can you crack your block using a hose to run cool water into your car while it's running like that?.

Coolant temps get to around 225 degrees max. Tap water runs what, about 50-70 degrees? I doubt that's enough from a thermodynamic stance to crack the block.

Been flushing like this for years. No problems. Have the coolant eye from NAISSO installed to have a better bleed point, have a visual that all air's out of the system and a means of attaching garden hose to system. Works great.

Exactly, to properly flush the heater core you need to flush it in both directions. Remove the both hoses, then flush with a garden hose into the inlet hose, then into the outlet hose. do this several times until the water flows in a good stream and it's clear (No rust or debris) thru the core.
