History:

A/C was working. ICE COLD. Compressor works, blower motor works. Blower failed to turn on out of nowhere. My blower resistor was completely corroded. Replaced with brand new GM part. Turn the fan on, popped the fuse.. WHATS NEXT? Need my AC I am DYING.

Car is in sig.

Make sure the resistor is installed correctly. If it is, it's probably the blower motor itself.

A possible short? Check wires surrounding the blower.

I would give you a 97% chance of it being a fried blower motor. The replacements from your local parts store will have a smaller/fewer blades fan. It will probably blow a little less air. There is a thread that addresses the fan swap. The fans do not like to come off of the motor shaft.

I put in a working blower motor from my parts car. After I replaced the resistor it did turn on and spin and then the fuse blew.

The only other part in the circuit is the high speed relay. The relay is attached to the dash support by the motor. The only thing it does is supply full voltage to the motor. The coil could be shorted. Other than that, unless there is a bare wire touching body metal, the motor is the only source for ground in the circuit. You should try running the motor with a couple of leads, to see if it is good.

Thank you Fred, I will check that relay. That is probably my issue.
