Belated thanks for the response and I will follow your advice to check the heat. I have been out of pocket and not checked messages. I don't have a leak, but I have heard the coil can be a gunk collector. I had a 95 Caprice that developed a similar problem at about 150,000. the 4.3 V8. Great car, but not a SS... Thanks again

I have a 96 SS with 14,000. I found last winter the heater was poor. How did you determine the core was bad or needed to be replaced. Was it clogged or leaking? If clogged, did you try to flush it first? My name is Dana Ripley, Thanks
