My neighbor wants me to tune his 96 caprice. I only have OBD1 software. After I convert an OBD1 pcm with the resistors for the knock sensors I planned to flash a 95 caprice tune as a base file to start with. I know that the transmissions are different between 95 and 96. Will the 95 tune operate the 96 transmission correctly?

Yes, it will shift correctly. The transmissions are the same.
Also, you don't have to solder in resistors to the PCM, just replace the knock sensors on each side of the motor w/ ones from a 95. -Nab
