the picture in you listing actually has both lo and hi beam patterns shown. OMG shows hi twice in the one i sent. The lo is that good, notice nearly no light above the cut off. I think that's what makes them light up the ground so good. The hi picture shows a hot spot in each beam but must be more the way the pic was taken. Actual light is more even in hi beam also.

I no longer have the car. I have the extra tag line in my sig to represent that... I do however have a 92 legacy that has h4 headlights. They were horrible until i put HIDs in them. Even with the h4 shield and the additional shield the hi/lo setup has (can still make out cutout), I miss my lights I had in my RMS. Those would be one step in the right direction. Just would have to find someone to clear lenses.

Yeah, that was me. I used a 2" hole saw and sunk the projectors a little deeper into the bucket and that did the trick. No more melting.
![]() ![]() ![]() Although, I am not at all happy with these lights. The pattern is nice, but the light output is TERRIBLE! And I am pretty sure that it's the projectors causing the problem, and not the tinted lenses. My directionals are super bright, and are a LOT brighter than the 6000K HID's are in these projectors. That's just not right. I actually had to drive in the dark and in the rain today on my way to work, and I was in fear of my life! The stockers were better! ![]() But they sure do look cool! ![]()

Just reheated the headlight to take the lens off again. Fits nice, but needs one more tweak. Got pics but looks like i'll need to resize them to upload. The extra tweak is that they are not long enough to get both the mount nut on and then the bulb retainer. Looks like simple slicing off the back of the housing where the stock twist retainer locks to will do the trick. Pics show this. Stock lens fits fine. Even with the fluted lens the pattern is good, but you get more glare above the cutoff line. Plan is to drive around with no lens to see how good they are on the road and then temporarily put the stock fluted lenses back until I either pull off the clears of the streetlights or order a set.
Sorry about your loss. I think you like these Matt if you go with the 4300K's for the Legacy. Wiring set up is pretty nice. One set has a longer power lead for the side farther from the battery. One battery connection, one ground, then you plug in the H4 connector into your stock harness. Only wires left are for the halo power. Can either scotch-lock them to the mains, parking, or turn signals. Walking around with one in the street sure seems really good. Might get to install them this or next weekend and give a better review. I'm hoping Bill's comments are the result of the smoked lens plus 6000K combo. Bill, the close up of the right light looks like a stock capsule. But the left one looks like the streetlights one with the free form reflector. Just curious. Neither would make a difference with the projectors anyway. I ran them for about 15 minutes with the stock lens (damn thing almost didn't want to come off again) on the dining room carpet. The lens got warm but no where near being hot. The heat from the light plus the housing is actually cooler then with the H7 bulb. Less watts (35 vs 55) plus I believe the HID has less infrared content then a halogen. That's what is heating my hand when I put in front of it. I could leave my hand there much longer. |

bill throw up some wall shots of the lights. are you sure they just don't need to be adjusted? the projector (IIRC you've had other projectors before) with the cutoff will make the light go further down the road. They may not appear as bright because the light just isn't thrown all over the place right in front of the car...
