Default Car won't start

I bought my 96 two yrs. ago and it came with a Prestige
alarm. Thru time it started to act funny. First I couldn't
figure out how to remote start it. It's capable of doing it
because my wife accidentally start it up by pushing a certain
button. Since that day I've been trying and then the alarm
goes off different times of the day. I had my 96 parked
for quite some time now and today i went to buy a brand new
battery for the car. Before buyin the battery; when I decided
to lock the car and set the alarm on and then decided to park it, my alarm remote got soak
in soda and now my display screen only shows half the screen.
The problem is that my car won't start, even with a new battery
and new batteries in the remote. So my questions is: Is my
car not starting because of the last time I set the alarm on?
Lights and stereo works and I have to open my car manually.
When I hook up the battery the alarm goes off but my remote
don't turn it off, it goes off by itself. I can't even use the remote
to unlock or lock the car.

I'm wondering if it's the alarm the reason why it won't start.
Before the remote got soaked it was working and I set the alarm on.
Now my remote don't function, just a lite turns on when I push
a button.

some remote starts if the unit is armed you cant start the car. under the steering column there will be some heavy guage wires. the heavy guage yellow wire will probably be cut in half with wires from the alarm spliced to both ends. If you want to start your car you will have to reconnect the yellow wire back together. I hope this helps you at least get your car started.

yellow wire may be faded and almost looks white, thats how mine was.

THANX. U fukin awesome for responding back. I hav a
Dead line cuz I hav to smog my 96 by this month and so many
chit is messing up on this car. When I first got it, it was so
reliable. I've had it park for months and I hate the fact that
is just sitting there. I parked it cuz my wife went to a drive thru
one day and hit the curb pretty hard on the front passenger side
and instead of backing off the curb, she goes ahead and put
the rear passenger wheel on the curb as well. Ever since the
car makes this noise like rubbing and it seems not to get up like
it use to(slower now). Now it won't start due to the alarm(I think).
I'm wondering if the new battery is faulty. The last time I
engage the alarm was the last time I started car. Do u
think the alarm is still engaged and that's why it don't start
Cuz my alarm remote won't work?

No problem. yeah i think your alarm is "armed" which wont let the car start. When you install a remote start you sometimes have to cut the starter wire(large guage yellow wire) in half. if you reconnect the two wires back together, it should start.

Look for a override switch, turn on key and override it. Let me know if this helps.
