Had to put it back together so I can get to work next week. Going to build a filler panel for the bumper so it mates up better to the body.

Rain expected all weekend here so probably be rained out. I got off work early today and started in on the front. I removed two inches of the bumper shock extensions and welded the mounts back on. I then made the slots wider for the bumper mounting studs so the bumper would go higher up. I'm going to shorten the ends of the bumper also to get a better fit and not have to use the bumper fillers. I absolutely love the tucked look of the front now especially with the later model header panel.

That's a good idea, I might have to do shorten my bumper shocks, too, the bumper fillers (especially the rear) on mine are all nasty. I got rear ended in my old wagon in Chicago, which pushed the bumper in so you couldn't see the rear bumper filler, I might just do that again :-P

Got dark on me but got a few tack welds on before I ran out of mig wire. After raising the front bumper, the front fenders hung down past it. I hated the cornering lamps anyway so this was an easy fix! I still got to fab up a small filler piece where I seperated it.

My mother had an '84 Caprice Classic wagon for YEARS, which is probably the only reason the boxy cars have a place in my heart. Can't wait to see more!

I'd like to see/hear more about how you modded the spring pockets instead of cutting the springs.
Your wheel choice reminds me of a visit to new york in the late 80's... EVERY,andi i do mean every, Caprice/impala taxi in New york had Iroc's on 'em.
