Steering Wheel Question

I have kind of a stupid question regarding steering wheel replacement. I have a 2000 Impala LS that has the radio controls on the wheel. I wanted to see if it was possible to replace that wheel with that of a new model Impala. Let's say 2011. I like those wheels and I am in the process of converting my interior to black and gold and it would fit nicely.
