I ended up taking a couple steps back and sanded some areas of the body once again to fix some issues that happened when it rained. I also tore out the entire interior – including dash to clean everything that could have gotten in contact with the fire retardant. I took this opportunity to add 10 new circuits into the stock fuse box. These new circuits will be used for the wideband setup, stereo, nitrous system, gauges, line lock and several other things. You would never know it was there and it will look very stock because I plan to make a new sticker for the fuse box cover which will include the new circuit information. See the progress below:

I installed the exhaust (except for the rear hangers for the tail pipes. The setup consists of CIA Gen2 Tri-y,s hookup pipes without cats, a Pypes “X” pipe, Dynomax Ultraflow SS mufflers, Dynomax 2.5 over axle pipes and ends with a custom pair of SS 2.5 polished tips from CIA. Everything is held together with Dynomax SS band clamps. Everything should fit when the body goes over the frame but just in case, nothing was welded so it can all be removed without much work.

I had to get on the roof to do some maintenance so I took the opportunity to snap a couple pictures of the car. I knew it was big but from above it looks huge.

Hope that satisfies some of you – feels good on my end. This is the progress as of February 2009. I have not done much since then but did go through the entire engine wiring harness and add/remove several circuits and have also been working on relocating the oil filter to allow room for the headers. I ended up going with Quads instead of the Tri-Y's on Dan's (@ CIA) recomendation.

Stay tuned !!!

TOM B

Looks Awesome. do you have any more updated pics?

It has been over a year since I last updated this thread. Surprisingly the car has been very reliable and has yet to have any real issues. Why this surprises me is that EVERYTHING in the car was taken apart and put back together. I am very happy with it and wish I could afford to drive it more but I still refuse to drive it in the rain. I’m averaging ~12mpg with my last tank being a little over 13mpg. Not bad for a healthy 11.5:1 stroker in a 4400 pound car.

I was able to get the car up on a lift a couple weeks ago and took the opportunity to snap some pictures. I was saddened to see it dirty but I’ll get over it….. I still have the interior/stereo to finish and hopefully in June I’ll be able to get it on a dyno to see what kind of power it is making. Enjoy the finished pics from UNDER the car!!! Before anybody asks about the oil leak on the filter, it was a little loose. I just wish I had noticed it before I took the pictures.

OMG !!!
All i can say is if Jon Moss was a '96 DGGM he would be your car !!!

This car you made is a Museum piece that will be used as a reference for future builds long after we are gone.... that is HOW EPIC this thread is IMHO !!! 8-)

Just thinking about the video you had when it fired up gives me goosebumps. I don't even need to go back and watch it. After a year, it still looks just as beautiful. Your car and your level of skill have earned my respect and hopefully the respect of everyone else as well. Kudos to you.
