Default 2005 Impala SS miss fire?

need help. I see lots of people posting similar problems but not one solution once they fixed it. I am having problems that all started at once so I am wondering if they are all tied together. My Impala always ran great with no issues but then one night I was driving and the car stalled while driving. Start right back up and no issues so I thought maybe I hit the key or something. Then 2 days later it won't start. When it does, it surges up and down almost stalling only to rev itself up. Took it the the garage and they blamed the fuel pump. Changed that and left the garage only to have it stall out again hours later when I had to have it towed back. This time o2 sensor changed and searched for vacuum leak with nothing found. Now I have to apply the gas when starting to make sure it starts. Most of them time I can drive about 2 miles and feel when feel to me like a miss fire and brief loss of power only to go away 1 sec later. Also from time to time when starting it now slams into gear but transmission shop finds nothing wrong with transmission and of course it never happens when they look at it. Finally the rpm gate sometimes goes up but does not come down and ends up going all the way around. To reset it, I have to turn the key on and off (without starting) until it comes back.

I have spent 1200+ on stuff trying to find out what's wrong. I am hoping someone else has had this as many people have posted simalar items and can tell me what they did to fix.

While this is the wrong forum, im familiar with the 3800 v6. I had a similar problem in my 99 Camaro and 98 Regal GS (3800 SC) a few years ago. Turned out it was the coil packs. Havent had that problem since once i replaced them. If your check engine light is on, have it scanned for codes to try and narrow it down, but it sounds like the coils. HTH.

My guess is the ICM is crapping out on the misfire problem. If its a SS, its supercharged. Also for the trans shifting hard, could be the misfire causing it or it has a pc solenoid/valve body issue. Pretty common on 4t65e's. This is based on what is sounds like and what I have seen and worked on at one time another
