My next couple weekends are busy, but Im hoping the first of July I will be able to fix oil leak, do a tune-up, new ball joints, "cold air" and possibly headers - and no cats, 2 1/2" exhaust, dynomax or magnaflow mufflers. But oil leak, tune-up and ball joints are on the top of the list. After I get oil leak fixed, or during the fixing, I am definently cleaning the engine compartment up. Its way too dirty/greasy under there

Congrats on the new car and welcome to the club. Looks like you got a nice car.

Good deal on the cluster. Got your first mod done and once the mod bug hits you....you can't stop as for the Oil sensor, you should be good to go if it's a 9c1.

Check those Ball joints before you order the parts and make sure they weren't already upgraded to 5/8" units. It should be 9/16" but you never know til you check.

Nice little project you got there....Have fun.

Im thinking this car has the 5/8" lower ball joints. Im gonna buy nuts tom to find out. And I crawled under the car today to look at ball joints and the opti, and my opti has two vacuum lines on the bottom of it. One is so oil soaked it swelled and is too big to stay on the port, and one is still hooked up. So, looks like maybe it was converted to vented opti too

Its titled as a 94, clear and not a salvage or rebuilt either. Maybe they cut the quarters and replaced with newer ones?

Meant to ask, there is a sticker on my radiator support that says George Bates Automotive, caprice refurbishing, and lists an address and phone number. Anybody hear of that company?

Yes. They made a name for themselves refurbishing 9C1s to CONSIDERABLY extend their service lives as patrol/enforcement vehicles (don't know if that extension was certified specifically for PURSUIT vehicles).

Call them and see if they have any documentation about your car.
If you're really lucky, they did a hell of a lot more than just the radiator.

All b-bodies have vented Optis. If this was a Geo. Bates refurb car that explains the 5/8 ball joints. They did a whole lot of these for the LACO Sheriff's Dept. but a bunch of others as well. As suggested, give them a call and see what you can find out. If you live in SoCal, that is also a great shop for any problems that may arise. They really know these cars and are very nice as well.
