Hey every body would like for every one to give me there input if they can.
First I have a 1994 impala ss my Transmission just went and money is a problem right now. I found a Mechanic who expertise is race cars and was telling for what im looking to do with the impala is making it faster that i should go with Super 400 transmission kit but he wants to charge me $1500.700 would be for the labor. Do you guys know of anybody that does Transmission in the Va Beach area and that's Good. Also looking for an impala club that has a lot information and can guide me to the right path for my car don't want to spend money for nothing i do plan on keeping my baby. Also how do you make more than one damn post |

First off,I've never heard of a "super 400" kit. But, $1500 is the ballpark for a toasted trans. You could try a salvage yard, but the in/out is the same. Also, the different years of the 4L60-E aren't interchangeable. Take some time, and read the related threads. Many, many have been where you are. Listen to what they have to say.

Do it right the first time

If money is an issue, your best bet is taking your chances at the junkyard or on Craigslist. Look for a trans out of a '94 Caprice, Buick Roadmaster, or Cadillac Fleetwood.

You can't put any other year in a '94, except a '94. In addition to the list above, a '94 F-Body or '93-'94 Chevy full size truck 4L60E will work by just changing the tail housing.

Yea do that and while your at it you should put a carburetor on the engine as all of the sensors are overrated and are really confusing. LOL im just messing with you. But seriously a TH400? Rebuild your 4L60E and you will be alot happier. -Josh
