Do you guys know of anybody that does Transmission in the Va Beach area and that's Good.

First off,I've never heard of a "super 400" kit. But, $1500 is the ballpark for a toasted trans. You could try a salvage yard, but the in/out is the same. Also, the different years of the 4L60-E aren't interchangeable. Take some time, and read the related threads. Many, many have been where you are. Listen to what they have to say.

If you are going and willing to spend that kind of money go ahead and give finishlineperformance transmissions a call. ask for andy, Go on ls1 tech or even on here and do a search, also check out performabuilt and RPM transmissions all great builders, also frank cahall is a great builder as well a CPT transmissions , i'm running a finishline transmission myself and has been great... Do it right the first time

Don't quote me on this but I thought you could put a 95,96 trans in a 94. but NOT a 94 trans in a 96. The 96s have the extra plug but a 94 would never look for it because it's not even on the wiring harness. Could be 100% wrong on this but inquiring minds want to know. (Especially because I have a 94 and looking to rebuild a 96 transmission in the future.)

If money is an issue, your best bet is taking your chances at the junkyard or on Craigslist. Look for a trans out of a '94 Caprice, Buick Roadmaster, or Cadillac Fleetwood.

You can't put any other year in a '94, except a '94. In addition to the list above, a '94 F-Body or '93-'94 Chevy full size truck 4L60E will work by just changing the tail housing.

This is a HUGE step backwards, but it's expected from somebody who probably doesn't know how to build a 4L60E. A '60E has a lower first gear ratio so it will launch better, and it retains overdrive. A PROPERLY BUILT 4L60E can carry a 4200# car into the 9's.

Yea do that and while your at it you should put a carburetor on the engine as all of the sensors are overrated and are really confusing. LOL im just messing with you. But seriously a TH400? Rebuild your 4L60E and you will be alot happier. -Josh
