http://www.safetynewsalert.com/anoth...-cars-at-work/ It's from around 18 months ago. I think the number of states is up to 17 now. Then there are a few more that allow it but on a more limited basis. Ah, yeah, here's one of those... http://www.employmentlawdaily.com/in...ischarge-suit/

The dumbest thing of this whole story is the good guy gave the robber another chance to shoot him or his boss. That scumbag is gonna kill someone.

What about a armed guard then. Like at the bank. I've notice s lot more of guards at non bank places too. I always carry. Everywhere but the post office.

Oh......you mean, like an armed guard who must carry a firearm......as a condition......of employment?
Like an armed guard who has been certified as being firearm trained? Like an armed guard who's been trained in the proper use of deadly force? Like an armed guard who is bonded & insured? You mean like that? Or do you mean like an armed guard who's only trained to work a cash register or stock shelves ??????KW |

Well I get the whole liability thing. I get that they probably had to discipline the guy. What they should have done was give the employee a week off with pay to reflect on his "poor judgement".
What these families of victims need to do is sue these companies because of the inability to protect themselves. Then it might become economically feasible to do the right thing. eff autozone!

I wonder if the young man had walked out to his car, gotten his gun, and then taken off his AZ shirt - then re-entered the store and now looking like John Q. Public - if things [legally] might change a bit.
I understand company policy[s] regarding weapons at work. But there are exceptions to every rule and this is a classic case of it. Real sad side of this is the bad guy got away. I'da shot him without question, as he came in and was holding a gun [read: GREEN Light] - and then would have walked up to him as he lay there leaking his life onto the floor, and double tapped him in the head. "A dead man can not bear false witness; and is no longer a burden to society. Period. Next case..." Oh - the double tap to the head - believe it or not this has been told to me by more than one LE officer! And I concur - AZone lost my business.
