Regular, unless reprogrammed for advanced timing.

Yup, regular. Won't run any better on super, maybe even a touch worse on the gas mileage.

Do your own testing on the grades.

I have a 94 Fleetwood that gets better mileage on premuim than it does with regular. It still has stock tune & has 360K on it. As for fuel brand, I like Shell. It is top tier fuel compared to others & it the only brand I seemed to have gotten more MPG.

I know my car runs better on Chevron than most other brands I've tried...I haven't tried Shell yet.

I like shell for the car and pickup gets better mileage on BP.

I ignore the so-called experts and use nothing but premium or plus in my 96SS. Even with plus I get a little rod rattle when hot starting. I've never tried regular since the car was new and don't expect to.

On the other hand, my daughter bought a new 96SS when I did and she runs nothing but regular with no apparent problems.

I know the owner's manual says 87 octane or higher, so answer me this...my 95 Corvette LT-1 owner's manual says to use 91 octane or higher. The Impala and Vette engines are very similar, so why the difference?

lol @ the so called experts...

anywho, gm designed the lt1 in bbodys for cops mostly. they were designed to run on the lower octane so it would be cheaper for the police.

i run all my bbodys on the cheap **** beyond my tuned car

thanks
