Check out my build...car was jacked all up but my body guy got her to like new again. I replaced mine because it was hit and they used a ton of Bondo. I can hook you up with my body guy if you want all the details but he is anal about his work and goes the distance. Right now he is testing different black paints to get the deepest wettest effect

Start looking at the local pick n pulls. I see caprices allover with good QR panels!

If you can, weld the panel in at ALL the factory seams, including the roof. Under all that seam sealer that usually cracks at the roof line, hides those welds that hold the QR to the roof.

I did see a qtr panel replace on a 96 SS at a GM body shop once. The rear pillar cut was in the middle of it. rear and rear quarter glass was out. The pillar graft was lead filled after weld and finished smooth as glass. when the repair was done it looked exactly like stock on all the edges of door & trunk

Crap, thats horrible...sorry to see this. Ive removed a few 1/4 panels, never replaced them.

If your doing the work yourself, remove the one off the parts car before you touch yours, that way you can see exactly where you need to cut and not cut to much off your own car.

Cut as much of the 1/4 panel as you can off the parts car so you have extra metal to cut/measure/work with.

Good luck.
