I thought that when my wife told me she broke her Blackberry. But I wanted a phone with a bigger screen so I didn't argue. Then I go and do this.... Still waiting on the new screen but I will post results.

Check local video game/computer stores. There's a few shops around here that will do it for $50-60 bucks, plus the cost of the screen.

Maybe I'm too old and impatient nowadays. Or maybe my fingers have gotten too fat. But I tried replacing the battery in an ipod nano recently and failed miserably. Destroyed the damn thing. Any time someone beings me a broken device now it's "Ain't nobody got time fo dat"

I just remembered...I was in radio shack a few weeks back and saw a sign in the window offering screen repair as well. Same day service on most devices.

Success! I got the glass today and went for it. Heated the hell out of it and slowly worked a razor blade around the edge and got the glass off. Cleaned the glue and the LCD then put the new glass on. All works as it should. The only problem is the fact that the back of the glass is dirty. It had a plastic film over the front and the back. I peeled the one off of the back and stuck it on to avoid getting debris on there and never thought it would be dirty. I think I might press my luck and take it back off to clean the backside of the glass. Other than that small issue I think it went very well and was very straight forward.
