Hello All,
I have read threads on electric fan conversions on 91-93 B-Bodies and it seems that there are people for it and people against it. I have a friend who has a NIB flex-a-lite set up part 480. I verified with Flex-a-lite directly and it can be used on my car and comes with all brackets, wires and control box. My question is that when I asked the tech about the A/C turn on switch he said I can use a t-tap connector and splice into the hot wire going to the A/C compressor and hook up the wire from the control box to the this connection and this will turn on the fans each time I turn on my A/C, tech suggested I solder joint instead of using the t-tap connector though. Has anyone done it this way or should I stick to my mechanical fan (hate the roar on start up). I can get the set up for cheap but don't want to ruin my ride by using it. Any thoughts.

Heating/Cooling/HVAC Try here. There is no relationship to performance in what you ask.

I did it the way the your guy at Flex-A-Lite suggested. Was foolproof for the 5 years I had the car.
I'm pretty sure FlexALite #395 is the right unit for the TBI, but I suppose that doesnt mean the 480 won't work. + |

I tried searching for # 395 but could not find it. If I can get the correct one I would rather spend the extra $$ and get it done right.

Whoops! I meant the #295. Been a while
![]() Found an old thread on NAISSO from 2005 that I commented on. http://www.impalaclub.com/naisso/for...TOPIC_ID=31812 The #295 is not a direct bolt on (none of the flex-a-lite fans are), but from what I remember the sizing was the closest to the TBI radiator and was what they reccomended 7 years ago. |
