Win or lose, with modern warfare being what it is, you devestate your homeland for decades......the infastructure, the economy, the environment, etc. That being the case, most people with an IG above that of a troglodyte will opt to maintain their (and their family's) standard of living rather than throwing this country into a state resembling Gaza or Syria.
