Check Engine Light after doing Air pump disable.

Leave the fuse in place and just disconnect the power connector to the air pump at the air pump. This will disable the pump and you will not get any error codes. Had the same issue on my 94 Caprice wagon and this is the solution.

There's a 20-page sticky on deleting the air pump (and how to plug the holes in the exhaust manifolds) in the Exhaust Section.

Procedures vary by year and possibly state (Californians may need to disable but not "delete" the pump).

Not sure if 95 is different but in the last 12 years I've disabled the air pump on 2 Impalas, 1 Roadmaster and 1 Fleetwood. All I've done is remove the pump, plug the ports. I've never had a problem with a light on afterwards.

And I think the search part is beat to death in this thread now, let's help this guy with his car please...

94's and 95's are the same. As stated, just unplug the Air Pump and tie connector out of the way, you will be fine. If you have a way to tune the PCM, i.e. tuner cat, you can uncheck code 29 and remove the relay.

96's you have to have the PCM tuned to eliminate the light, as stated in the TSB link someone posted above.

I realize the search function isn't the greatest and it has been beat to death and has obviously offended someone but my rule of thumb for searching on here, use the Google search option that is in the Search drop down. I put in "air pump disable" this morning and I came up with these:
