Leave the fuse in place and just disconnect the power connector to the air pump at the air pump. This will disable the pump and you will not get any error codes. Had the same issue on my 94 Caprice wagon and this is the solution.

There's a 20-page sticky on deleting the air pump (and how to plug the holes in the exhaust manifolds) in the Exhaust Section.
Procedures vary by year and possibly state (Californians may need to disable but not "delete" the pump). Good luck with your project. http://www.impalassforum.com/vBullet...d.php?t=229732

I didn't call you a noob, I stated my frustration with constantly answering "noob questions". Asking how to delete your AIR pump is a "noob question." Don't get all butt-hurt over nothing.

Im getting sick and tired of you people giving people **** about posting a question. If you want to be an ass and get all ****ty about people posting a question then don't ****ing answer it. Plain and Simple the search function on here is ****. Don't agree I dont give a ****. All you up tight ass holes drive me crazy. This forum is for people who are crazy about the same car to help one another and to answer questions no matter how dumb they are. Fact is the administration of this site is **** and things need work but our lovely admin seams to be AWOL so I guess we will just have to deal with what we are delt. Either be nice or don't Post.

Not sure if 95 is different but in the last 12 years I've disabled the air pump on 2 Impalas, 1 Roadmaster and 1 Fleetwood. All I've done is remove the pump, plug the ports. I've never had a problem with a light on afterwards.
And I think the search part is beat to death in this thread now, let's help this guy with his car please...

94's and 95's are the same. As stated, just unplug the Air Pump and tie connector out of the way, you will be fine. If you have a way to tune the PCM, i.e. tuner cat, you can uncheck code 29 and remove the relay.
96's you have to have the PCM tuned to eliminate the light, as stated in the TSB link someone posted above. I realize the search function isn't the greatest and it has been beat to death and has obviously offended someone but my rule of thumb for searching on here, use the Google search option that is in the Search drop down. I put in "air pump disable" this morning and I came up with these:http://www.impalassforum.com/vBullet...d.php?t=229732 http://www.impalassforum.com/vBullet...d.php?t=228713 These are just a couple. Just stating that the search function isn't completely broken.
