Default Window on tailgate wont latch?

Hey, my window on my tailgate wont latch, I've taking the panel off of the tailgate and I have tried everything I know to fix it. I just can't figure it out. Is there some kind of solenoid or maybe some other electrical problem that would prevent this from happening? Please help me if you guys have any suggestions. Im really worried about getting robbed while im out surfing. Thanks for the help.

If the solenoid was electrically stuck you would burn it out long before the battery ran down. But it might have seized in the open position holding the latch open. Two small screws remove it. Before I start tearing everything apart I'd lube everything up well and see if that helps.

The shaft of the popper solenoid gets corrosion, and dirt on it, and will stick. If you polish it with 400-600 grit carbide paper and a little solvent, it will eventually free up. I fixed one and it still works.

I have that issue when the tailgate is ajar. If it is closed maybe the button that senses that the door is closed could be bad.

There is no interlock between the gate and glass. It can only be an alignment issue

Thanks for the help, I'll get to working on it. Be prepared for a lot more questions in the future. I'd like to learn everything I can about this wagon, and make it look good for my grandfather.
