Outside of choosing whether to first disconnect the battery or not to protect from stray spikes, it's pretty straightforward otherwise.

4-color matched plugs. Gently depress the pressretainers and pull. When you say "replace" are you swapping in an all-new unit? You wanna be sure to match the OBD- type that's coming out.

Match the OBD?
I was going to pick it up from a parts car, a 94 FWB as well.

He's talking OBDI ('94, '95) vs. OBDII ('96). There were also Fleetwoods manufactured in '93 that were OBDI but came with the L05 TBI 350. Not sure that those would interchange, either. If you're swapping from one '94 to another, you'll be fine.

You're going to be pretty much relegated to yards at this point. Even if you found one NOS I don't think you'd want to see the price. $25-$100 seems the range.

What did you do to yours?

Well the interior lights stay on and I'm having issues with the pass key system. I found one, $110 shipped.

I sure would not have guessed the PCM for those 2 issues. I should think the lights would be the CCM (box in the trunk), and from casual reading over the years I recall passkey probs have had different kinds of fixes other than replacing the PCM - IIRC. Things as wierd as a bad battery/loose connections I thought could make it wonky.

But I guess you been through the FSM and done researched it out.

PCM? I'm replacing the CCM. Well I'm replacing it for the interior lights and doubt the lock cylinder is bad so I don't have my hopes up but it would be cool if replacing the CCM would take care of the Pass Key fault. I'm picking up a new key soon and if that doesn't help either, I'll be replacing the lock cylinder.

D'oh! I wasn't drunk, ---just braindead. I swear! Your title even says it. Now your whole thread makes more sense. $100 is pretty cheap to swap out for the testfix. Look at the bright side, if it don't fix the prob you at least got a good spare.

We lost alot of archive on the passkey but I'm sure you combed the web for wonky starting fixes. You can solder in resisters to take it out but I'd go for the new switch like you. Like I said some guys found just the condition of their battery would fail the passkey thing.

Sorry to derail your thread, but I did TTT extra at least .
