Default "PCM EEB" to a "PCM EE", PCM?

So I finally got my tuner CATS to work, and started reading all the PCM's I have around. Now one of them, that I need to make a copy of, for another car, so I can do the OBD-I conversion... is a PCM EEB. So basically, the file that I have, that I want to copy. Is a PCM_EEB, where as the PCM I want to put it into is a PCM_EE. Is this going to cause any problems? I'm really not sure what the Rare Rivision PCM_EEB, as far as what trully is the difference.

Is the actual bin file an EEB or is the PCM listed as EEB? Figure out what the actual BIN file is. If this is not a stock tune, more than likely its in EE forumat.

your injector size will come up some wacky size
if you open with the wrong calibration

I always check for that.

You can flash an EE bin onto an originally equipped EEB calibration and vise versa. Be very selective about which tables you cut an paste between the different formats, the displayed values in both variations are different when viewed with each others definition file.

Yea, I was reading the tuner basics, and saw that. It had some really jacked up values for a few tings when you open a EEB, in the EE def file.

No such thing as an $EE or $EEb PCM. Same hardware.

Presumably this is going into a 96 car. $EEb code won't know how to control your PWM lockup.

There are 2 types of memories out there, top boot loader and bottom boot loader. Intel uses top, and Hynix and Toshiba usually use bottom.

So yes, can be "same" hardware to a point, but due to manufacturing volume the supplier had to have a second source on the memories.

Personally I haven't seen a bottom boot loader PCM, all have been top (intel) that I have and have seen.

Basically if the bootloader takes up 1K of space, then it would have to be taken account of, and everything shifted 1K up or down in the definition file.

Yes, they DO exist, just relatively rare.
