it doesnt really matter which way. the fabric is facing the seats whenever i do it but whichever way you need to do it to get it out try. most of the time i pull them out of a b body the center console is already out b/c im doing a full interior. so i suppose if it is really giving you trouble try that. its really not needed. just try a couple different ways itll eventually come out.

Okay, one more question. the previous owner of my car had replaced the carpet not long before I bought it. but its buckeled in a few places and looks loose. Is there a way of flatening it out and making it look smooth?

you need two yards for the rear deck and youll have to do it long ways.

i got it from a place called city mill hardware here in hawaii...oh well, just used it to put some trim carpet on my doors and after letting it sit and get tacky, that stuff is insanely stong
