See my original first post above. Does your gauge act the same as mine with the key in different positions? Or does your gauge not move at all?

The "SENSOR" on the waterpump has absolutely nothing to do with the temp. gauge on the inst. panel. It gets it's signal from a "SENDER" on the pass. side head. There exist multiple threads on this issue already, and some of them are quite extensive in their coverage of this issue.

talked to a guy at autozone, told me theres a switch and a sender...my car just sits at C and doesn't move

95 DCM 224K stock except for Borla...new engine in at 224K in 8/2012 with TONS of new parts......87 caprice became my snow car in 2000 and it was laid to "rust" in 10/07 with 338K. Rebuilt trans at 308,000 (lasted pretty long I think); new radiator 330,000 (they said it literally disintegrated when they took it off); SS better last at least that long

none of those parts fixed it, temp shoots to H when you start engine then back to C, my boys still looking into it but i bought a aftermarket gauge today im done with it just want to ride lol
